RCMP officers in North Battleford have asked for help from the public as they investigate the suspicious death of a 36-year-old man.
According to police, officers got a call about an injured man in an alley behind a home on 105th Street, in North Battleford, at around 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Police said the injured man – identified by the RCMP as Tyler Mosquito, a resident of North Battleford – was rushed to hospital by paramedics, but he was later declared dead. His family has been notified, the RCMP added.

“The male’s death is considered suspicious,” the RCMP said in a statement. “As a result, Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit has taken carriage of the investigation.”
No further details on the circumstances of Mosquito’s death were shared by police, but the RCMP said updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
Police appealed to the public for information in the case, and asked anyone who was in touch with Mosquito “in the hours or days before his death” to get in touch with the Battlefords RCMP detachment.
The RCMP also asked homeowners to check any surveillance footage for suspicious activity in the area between 3:40 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
“If your device captured images or videos of suspicious activity, please report it to police immediately,” the RCMP asked.
Police said residents can expect an increased police presence in the area as the investigation progresses.
