The Saskatchewan Roughriders opened rookie minicamp on Wednesday as the first on-field steps of the 2026 CFL season are now underway.
While there aren’t a lot of starting spots seemingly up for grabs, there are a few areas where someone will need to step up for the defending Grey Cup champions.

The Riders’ main camp begins on Sunday, with many of the veterans reporting for the first time. A lot of eyes will be on quarterback Trevor Harris, as he looks to lead the Riders to their first-ever title repeat.

Jamie has been the host of The Green Zone since its inception in 2013 and is respected across Canada for his award-winning work, covering and commenting on sports. He grew up in Lumsden, Sask., and has gone from being a fan of the Riders to one of the go-to experts on the club. He hosts the pre- and post-game show with Darrell Davis and Belton Johnson.
Britton grew up in Regina and remembers going to Rider games as a child and now gets a chance to cover the team daily, bringing up-to-the-minute reports and insight from players and coaches from practice as well as pre- and post-game interviews.
