Wind and poor visibility are causing dangerous travel conditions on the TransCanada Highway near Morse and Reed Lake.
“There are some high winds in the area,” said RCMP spokesperson Keely Grasser.
“Those winds are disturbing some of the natural salt deposits by the roadside there on Highway 1 in the Morse and Reed Lake area. We’re asking people to slow down in the area, and they should drive to a speed that’s appropriate and safe for whatever current visibility environment they’re experiencing.”
Swift Current Rural RCMP are also at the scene of a four-vehicle collision on the highway.
“The investigation is still unfolding,” Grasser said. “But what I can tell you right now is that two people have been taken to hospital with injuries that were described to us as serious but non-life-threatening in nature.”
Multiple reports to the Swift Current Online newsroom indicated poor visibility in the area.
