Police in Humboldt are asking the public for any information that could help them track down a man who reportedly pointed a gun at two young kids on Saturday.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the RCMP, officers got a report about a suspicious man with a gun on Eighth Avenue in Humboldt at around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

“It was reported to police that two children under the age of 10 were approached by a male in a truck,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“The male pointed a firearm at the children and threatened them. The firearm was not discharged. The children ran away and were not physically injured.”
Police said the suspect was a tall man with a mustache, who was driving an older-model white Chevrolet truck.
“Humboldt RCMP made patrols in the area looking for the male suspect and the truck. At this time, they have not been located,” the RCMP said.
Police asked anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area, or who may have information that could help the investigation, to contact police or make an anonymous report through Crime Stoppers.
Similar case reported in Southey on Sunday
The case follows a similar incident that allegedly took place in Southey, north of Regina, on Sunday.
A 41-year-old man is facing a list of charges including assault with a weapon and recklessly discharging a firearm after he allegedly came out of a house on Byron Street and pointed a gun at two kids before firing into the ground.
Police said the man was arrested shortly after the incident. A search of the home was later conducted, and police said officers seized multiple firearms, ammunition, cocaine, crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
The man is due to appear in court in Regina on May 29, police said.
