Saskatchewan RCMP are looking for a man after a shooting on Yellow Quill First Nation on Saturday.
RCMP said in a news release on June 13 that officers from the Rose Valley detachment were called to a home on the First Nation around 4:35 a.m. and found an injured man outside. Police said he was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said a vehicle at the scene had been damaged by fire and the suspect had left before they arrived.
Yorkton RCMP Police Dog Services were called in to help but did not find 26-year-old Kain Cheechan from Yellow Quill First Nation. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Cheechan has been charged with arson causing damage to a motor vehicle, discharging a firearm with intent, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and two counts of possession contrary to an order.
Police said Cheechan is 5-foot-7, weighs 176 lbs with brown eyes and black hair.
RCMP said Cheechan sould not be approached but are asking people to report all sightings and information to Rose Valley RCMP by callingĀ 310-RCMP, their local police service or to inform Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or at saskcrimestoppers.com.
