RCMP officers are appealing to the public for information after a 78-year-old assault victim succumbed to his injuries and died.
According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, officers got a report of a serious assault on the Muskowekwan First Nation, north of Regina, at around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

“Investigation determined an unknown individual or individuals broke into a residence and assaulted an adult male. He was taken to the hospital with injuries described as serious in nature,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“Investigators believe the assault took place sometime between the evening of June 9 and morning of June 10.”
In an update issued on Sunday, police said the victim – who was identified as Douglas Moise, a Muskowekwan resident – had died in hospital. His family has been notified of his death, police said.
The RCMP said officers would like to speak with anyone who saw suspicious activity on the First Nation between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning or captured anything suspicious on surveillance cameras. Police said investigators would also like to speak with anyone who had contact with Moise on Tuesday.
Tips can be submitted to the RCMP directly, or anonymously through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
“If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, we will notify the public,” the RCMP noted.
