“Officers quickly arrived on scene and began their investigation into the threats,” read a statement from police. “At this point, it appears the threats were unfounded and activities at the airport are returning to normal.”
President and CEO of the Regina Airport Authority, James Bogusz, said operations are continuing as usual.
“Sadly, sometimes people will call in threats against major pieces of infrastructure, including airports,” he said.
Bogusz said communication between the airport authority and police has been constructive.
“I can confidently say there’s no active threat at all that we’re aware of at the airport,” he said. “The RPS has been very collaborative and ensuring they communicated that to us.”
Bogusz said people may notice more police at the airport for the remainder of the afternoon.
