A 53-year-old man is facing a charge of willfully causing unnecessary pain to an animal after allegedly kicking and choking his dog on Friday.
According to police, officers were called to an apartment building on Maningas Bend, in the city’s Evergreen neighbourhood, at around 7:25 p.m. after getting a report about the alleged abuse.

Police said the man was arrested at the scene, and police also seized “numerous firearms” from the apartment after learning that the man’s licence to possess firearms “had been expired for multiple years.”
The 53-year-old man is expected to appear in court in Saskatoon next month, police said.
