TORONTO — Ontario is raising speed limits on more sections of highways across the province.
Transportation Minister Prabmeet Sarkaria says the speeds will increase to 110 km/h from 100 km/h on Friday.
He says the changes will mean nearly 90 per cent of the provincial highway network will have a limit of 110 km/h.
The changes will begin on sections of Highways 416 and 401 in eastern Ontario.
Sarkaria says that will be followed by increased speed limits on Queen Elizabeth Way and Highways 400, 401, 402, 403, 416 and 417.
The province had previously approved the same speed limit increase on 16 sections of highways beginning in 2022.
