The grandson of Val Marie native, Bryan Trottier, will be joining the Pats roster for the team’s upcoming season.

The 18-year-old Minnesota player was selected by the Montreal Canadians in the sixth round of the 2026 NHL Draft this year, as the 189th overall pick. “We’re thrilled to welcome Parker and his family to the Regina Pats organization,” Pats general manager Dale Derkatch said. “Parker plays a fast, direct game and is an exceptionally intelligent player.
“He’s the type of player who can contribute in every situation. He competes hard, is responsible in all three zones, and does a lot of the little things that help teams win. We’re excited to see him continue his development in Regina.”
Trottier is committed to the University of Notre Dame and was originally selected by the Pats with the 12th overall pick in the WHL U.S. Priority Draft in 2023.
As the grandson of Hockey Hall of Famer, Bryan Trottier, the 18 year old comes to Saskatchewan with roots in the province’s hockey history. Bryan Trottier captured six Stanley Cups in his NHL career and played junior hockey in the WHL himself with the Swift Current Broncos and the Lethbridge Broncos.
