Regina police are urging Canada Day event attendees to celebrate the day safely.
“On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, Wascana Park will be filled with a variety of events and entertainment,” police cautioned in a release.
Events at the park begin with a pancake breakfast and end with fireworks around 10:30 p.m., after sunset.

Police with the service’s traffic safety unit, public safety unit and patrol officers will be surveying the festivities throughout the day to ensure safety for all in attendance.
Albert Street between College Avenue and 20th Avenue will be closed to all vehicle traffic beginning at 8:30 p.m.
“The Regina Police Service reminds drivers that parking illegally or stopping your vehicle on any road to watch the fireworks is not allowed. Officers will be ensuring that the rules of the road are being followed to ensure everyone’s safety,” police said.
Police offered several safety and etiquette reminders for event-goers on Canada. People are advised to expected higher vehicle and pedestrian traffic near Wascana Park and police advise planning your route ahead of time, leaving early and being patient and respectful.
Poliec also advised to park only in designated places, lock your vehicle and remove any valuables; dispose of trash properly and only consume alcohol in the designated beer garden; take a photo of your child before leaving in case of separation (in the case of a lost child, the lost children’s tent is near the main stage off Legislative Drive); and be mindful and respecful of other events happening in the park.
A Next to Kin tag is recommended by police as a tool that can reunite families when someone becomes separated in crowded settings.
Smoking is not permitted in public areas, police reminded event-goers.
