Regina police say a man has been charged after an alleged street robbery on Saturday, while another man is facing charges following an alleged weapons offence on Sunday night.
In the first case, police said officers responded to the 700 block of Victoria Avenue at around 2:50 a.m. after getting a report saying that a man had been bear sprayed.
Police arriving at the scene found a man suffering from the effects of the spray. The officers learned the victim had been walking in the area when a male suspect approached him, police said.

“The suspect assaulted the victim with bear spray before taking money from the victim and leaving the scene,” police said.
Police said a search of the area led to the suspect, who was inside a Victoria Avenue hotel room. The 24-year-old man was arrested, and police said a canister of bear spray was found in the room. He’s now facing charges of robbery and failure to comply with a probation order.
Man arrested after allegedly walking around with knife
Regina police said a 27-year-old man is facing weapons-related charges after an incident on Sunday evening.
Officers responded to the area of Victoria Avenue and Scarth Street just before midnight, police shared, after receiving a report of a “male suspect walking around the area carrying a knife.”
Members of the police canine unit and downtown safety team were among those who responded to the incident. Officers who responded to the report found a man matching the suspect’s description. Police said the man initially resisted arrest, “but was eventually taken into custody without incident.”
A search yielded a knife and handle from a pair of scissors, according to police.
The man has been charged with possession of a weapon, failure to comply with the condition of an undertaking and failure to comply with a probation order. He is set to appear in Regina Provincial Court on Aug. 24.
