The Melfort RCMP detachment is asking for information from the public pertaining to a shooting that happened on July 7.
Around 12:20 a.m., the RCMP received a report of a shooting on 1 Avenue South in Melfort.

“Investigation determined an altercation occurred between a group of individuals,” the RCMP reported in a news release. “During the altercation, a firearm was discharged and two adult males were injured.”
The RCMP said both men were taken to the hospital. One had serious injuries, the other had non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident is still being investigated. Melfort RCMP are asking anyone who might have seen any “suspicious activity in Melfort around the time of the shooting” to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
