The province’s Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority (FCAA) is warning consumers about a new scam targetting investors, that claims it is endorsed by former Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) CEO, Scott Banda.
Social media advertisements for the Profit Rings website falsely claim the site is endorsed by both FCL and Banda. The site also claimed Banda is currently the CEO of FCL, despite the fact he retired from the post in 2022.

The Profit Rings website claims the company offers investment opportunities in stocks, cryptocurrencies and forex to residents in Saskatchewan.
In a release from the province, the FCAA states Profit Rings is not registered in Saskatchewan. They cautioned investors against sending money to companies that are not registered in the province, as they may not be legitimate.
The release encouraged residents to confirm that a person or company is registered in the province before investing giving them money and to get professional advice about investments.
It also cautioned against investing in an entity based on an endorsement from a known public figure, as these are often fraudulent.
