What are the memories of summers that stick in your mind? Murray Wood ponders how some things will evoke those moments.
Between 6 p.m. on Wed, July 29 and 6 a.m. on Thur, July 30, the Battlefords RCMP received more than 60 calls for service.
The calls included two serious assaults, four other assaults and assault with weapons incidents, three vehicle theft reports, 17 reports of disturbing the peace and mischief and a single missing person report.
Police said the missing person was found safe.

The first serious assault was reported around 11 p.m., at a residence on Sweetgrass First Nation.
Two men were reportedly taken to hospital with serious injuries.
“Officers have been searching for the suspects, including with a Remotely Piloted Aircraft System,” the RCMP reported in a news release.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Battlefords RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
The second serious assault call came in around 4 a.m. on July 30. An adult female was taken to hospital from a park in North Battleford with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said officers arrested a suspect at the scene but charges have not yet been formally laid, the RCMP stated.
Two further arrests of people wanted for warrants were made in the 12-hour period.
“The Battlefords RCMP Detachment is one of the busiest in the province – and last night was one of the busiest nights so far this summer,” said the Batttlefords RCMP’s S/Sgt. Bryce Pender.
“We wanted to share a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes on nights like this. From our dispatchers at the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Operational Communications Centre to our frontline officers to our specialized policing services, we are working together to keep the Battlefords area safe 24/7.”
