Saskatoon police briefs: Assaults reported in Evergreen and Lakeview

Three teens are facing several charges after a 14-year-old boy was allegedly robbed in an incident in Saskatoon’s Evergreen neighbourhood Thursday evening.

Police say they responded to a call about a robbery in progress near Kloppenburg Link and Kloppenburg Street. The caller said the group had taken the key to the boy’s e-bike and that one of the teens had a gun.

According to police, the three assaulted the boy and pointed bear spray at him before running away.

The three suspects were found soon after and arrested. A search led to the discovery of the handle of a cap gun.

Two 15-year-old boys and one 14-year-old boy have been charged with robbery. One 15-year-old is also charged with possession of a weapon, disguise with intent and use of an imitation firearm.

Security officer threatened

Saskatoon police were called to a business in the 100 block of Primrose Drive Thursday afternoon.

Officers learned there had been a male shoplifter in the business with a knife. Police say the suspect was approached by security in the parking lot.

There was an altercation, and the suspect threatened to stab the security officer before running away.

16-year-old assaulted in Lakeview

Police were called to the 400 block of Kingsmere Boulevard early Friday morning for an injured person.

Police say officers found a 16-year-old boy who had been assaulted with a weapon. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is believed the assault occurred in the 3300 block of Eighth Street East.
