The provincial government is funding $1.3 million in improvements to group homes and day programs for people with intellectual disabilities.
According to a Government of Saskatchewan media release, the capital grant funding will go to 15 community-based organizations.
The money will fund repairs and renovations to group homes, respite homes and day programs for people with disabilities.

Program facilities could see improved accessibility, kitchen and bathroom renovations, and exterior upgrades.
This funding is part of the 2026-27 Provincial Budget.
Of the 15 service providers included in the funding, five are in Saskatoon: Choice. Passion. Life. Support Services, Cosmopolitan Industries, Elmwood Residences, Light of the Prairies, and Lutheran Sunset Home of Saskatoon.
Regina has one: the Regina Residential Resource Centre.
“Our community partners help individuals with intellectual disabilities live, learn and participate in their communities,” Social Services Minister Terry Jenson said.
“Investing in facilities helps homes and programs remain welcoming spaces where individuals can build skills, develop relationships and gain greater independence,” he added.
According to the release, group homes and respite homes offer a supportive living environment, while day programs provide social, recreational and employment opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities.
“By investing in these services, we are ensuring that more individuals with intellectual disabilities will have the opportunity to participate and thrive in their communities,” the release wrote.
