La Ronge RCMP are seeking a suspect after a Sucker River incident, while Meadow Lake RCMP have arrested a man after a gunshot that allegedly damaged two homes and two vehicles.
A 36-year-old woman is now facing several charges in the Sucker River incident while police continue to search for a male suspect.
The incident happened on Sept. 7. Around 6:20 p.m., a report of a “firearm discharge” in Sucker River was made to La Ronge RCMP.

“It was reported to police that a firearm was discharged from a car in the direction of a second vehicle,” police stated in a news release. “The occupants inside the second vehicle were not physically injured.”
The RCMP reported that a car matching the suspect vehicle’s description was later found that same evening.
“Officers activated their vehicle’s emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop. The car did not stop for police. It fled heading north on Highway #102,” police said. “For safety reasons, officers set up a tire deflation device which the suspect’s car ran over, deflating its tires.”
The car stopped and a man and woman reportedly exited the vehicle and ran away into a treed area north of Sucker River,” police said.
Using a drone, La Ronge RCMP searched the area until a woman was found and arrested. After searching the suspect’s car, the RCMP reported a firearm was found and seized.
The 36-year-old from La Ronge is now facing charges of flight from a peace officer, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, pointing a firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The woman is set to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on Sept. 10.
La Ronge RCMP are still investigating the incident, including work to identify and find the male suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact La Ronge RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
“La Ronge RCMP have determined there is no imminent risk to public safety in relation to this incident. If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, we will notify the public,” police stated.
According to the RCMP, Stanley Mission RCMP also assisted in the investigation.
Two homes, vehicles each damaged in second firearm discharge
A man – who was allegedly wearing a disguise at the time he allegedly shot a gun causing damage to two homes and two vehicles – has been arrested by Meadow Lake RCMP in a separate firearm discharge incident, police said.
The RCMP received the report of the incident on 8th Street West in Meadow Lake around 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 4.
“Investigation determined an individual discharged a firearm in the direction of a residential property. The residence, two vehicles, and a second residence nearby were damaged,” the RCMP release stated. No injuries were reported to police.
The Saskatchewan RCMP’s police dog services were included in the investigation to search for a suspect.
“The police dog tracked the suspect, locating a bag which contained ammunition and a knife,” police said. Officers seized the items but the suspect was not found until Sept. 5, when he was arrested at a home on 7th Avenue West in Meadow Lake, “as the result of continued investigation.”
A 21-year-old from Meadow Lake is facing various charges, including four counts of mischief under $5,000, two pertaining to property damage and two pertaining to motor vehicle damage, careless use of a firearm and wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence, among others.
He was scheduled to appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on Sept. 8.
