It isn’t uncommon for people who receive a windfall to dedicate some of their newfound fortune to following a favourite team or band on the road.
But for Saskatchewan’s newest millionaire, following the Grateful Dead or Pearl Jam isn’t in the cards.
“My plan for next summer is to follow the World Professional Chuckwagon Association,” Don Moore said.

Moore won the grand jackpot prize of $1,484,688.33 on Vault Breaker at Desrochers Hotel in Hudson Bay on Sept. 17, according to a statement from the Western Canada Lottery Corp. (WCLC).
He said he couldn’t believe how big the win was.
“My knees were weak,” he said. “It took me a while to come to terms with how much I’d won.”
The prize is large enough that he’ll be able to spend some of it on things beyond chasing chuckwagons.
“I’m going to buy a different vehicle,” he said. “Most of it will be locked into savings.”
According to the WCLC, “Vault Breaker is a wide-area progressive that links 4,200 VLTs located in approximately 550 sites in 270 communities across the province.”
“The province-wide jackpot has awarded $67,738,102.72 to 68 winners since June 2017. Vault Breaker’s provincewide grand jackpot has now been reset to $500,000,” the WCLC said.
