A man accused of lighting a home on fire on Avenue E North earlier this month is also a suspect in two other arson cases, according to the Saskatoon Police Service.
The fire was reported shortly before 5 a.m. on Oct. 16. One occupant was able to get outside safely, the fire department said, but a dog was unaccounted for. Police said the animal was later found dead inside.

No injuries to humans were reported, and the fire department said the blaze was brought under control less than an hour after it was first reported.
The fire broke out on the home’s front porch, the fire department added, and the damage was estimated at $250,000.
The fire was later deemed suspicious, and police circulated surveillance images of a person of interest in the case. Police said the “person or persons can be observed on multiple sources of video surveillance prowling in the area where a suspicious fire occurred shortly after.”
