Firefighters fought the blaze from outside, then went inside to search for anyone who might not have made it out. Firefighters at the scene told 980 CJME that nobody was found inside the home, but a bystander was treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters were able to get the fire quickly under control, and nobody was hurt.
The fire department also responded to a house fire on the 3400 block of Victoria Ave shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Flames and smoke were visible when firefighters arrived, but the department said the fire was contained to the main floor.
All searches were completed, and no injuries were reported.
Gord Hewitt, Regina’s deputy fire chief, said seeing three fires in such a short period of time isn’t unheard of.
“It’s not common, but it’s not the first time we’ve seen it, so it does happen,” said Hewitt.
“Sometimes we’ll go for a period of weeks without any house fires or structure fires… So it’s kind of the nature of the business where it’s very unpredictable.”
He said all three fires are under investigation.
“I don’t really have any information on the level of damage right now,” Hewitt said.
“Our inspectors are working right now to investigate the cause and determine the extent of the damage and whether they can be occupied again or not.”
