“Investigation determined a semi and a pickup truck collided. The driver – who was the sole occupant – of the pickup truck was declared deceased at the scene,” the Mounties said in a statement issued on Thursday.
“Meadow Lake RCMP are working with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service to formally identify the deceased, and as such, no further information about their identity can be released at this time.”
The driver of the semi, meanwhile, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said.
The cause of the crash is being investigated with the assistance of an RCMP collision reconstruction expert.
