According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, officers received a report about two dead people at a home in the Beechy area, southwest of Saskatoon, on the morning of Oct. 28. When police visited the home, they found the remains of a 51-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man inside.
The RCMP said its homicide unit is probing the deaths, but said only Darcy’s death was considered suspicious.
“As a result of initial investigation, it is believed the 51-year-old female’s death is suspicious in nature. The 53-year-old male’s death is not believed to be suspicious in nature,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“The official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.”
The RCMP said investigators are not seeking any suspects in connection with the deaths, and the police force does not expect to issue any updates on the case.
“The Homicide Investigation Unit is not seeking additional individuals related to this incident and we do not anticipate having further updates related to the investigation as no charges will be laid,” the RCMP said.
The RCMP did not identify either of the deceased individuals in its lone statement on the case, citing privacy obligations.
According to their obituaries, the couple had three children and four grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m. at the Beechy Community Hall.
