Chris Fahlman has been committed to stand trial on charges related to the September 2025 death of Weyburn’s Tanya Myers.
The decision follows the conclusion of Fahlman’s preliminary inquiry on Friday evening. The judge found there was sufficient evidence for the case to proceed to the Court of King’s Bench, with the charges as presented.

The preliminary inquiry was not a determination of guilt or innocence.
Fahlman faces charges of second-degree murder and intentionally discharging a firearm while being reckless to the life or safety of another person.
A publication ban under Section 539 of the Criminal Code restricts publication of evidence presented during the preliminary inquiry. The ban is intended to protect the fairness of any subsequent trial.
The matter was adjourned to Nov. 17 in Weyburn Provincial Court.
