The Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit has been called in to investigate the suspicious death of a 22-year-old man in Pelican Narrows.
Saskatchewan RCMP said in a news release on Oct. 30 that around 7 p.m. on Oct. 29, 2026, officers from the Pelican Narrows detachment were called to a home in the community after receiving a report about an injured man.

When officers arrived, police said they found the young man had severe injuries. Paramedics rushed him to hospital by ambulance, where he died. The man’s family has been notified.
Because the circumstances surrounding the man’s death appear suspicious, the homicide unit has taken control of the ongoing case. This provincial unit is responsible for handling the most serious cases across Saskatchewan, including homicides, suspicious deaths, missing persons cases where foul play is suspected, and criminal explosions that cause injury or death.
As part of their ongoing work, investigators are making an urgent appeal to local community members who live in the neighbourhoods of Pine Drive — which is also locally known as Rainbow Street — Nesoteo Road, and Noochemeek Place to review any home security footage.
Specifically, homeowners and residents are asked to check their outdoor security cameras and doorbell camera footage recorded between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Anyone who captures unusual behaviour or suspicious activity on their cameras, or anyone who may have witnessed something unusual anywhere in Pelican Narrows, is urged to contact local police services at 310-RCMP.
Police said Pelican Narrows residents can expect to see a highly visible and increased police presence throughout the northern community while officers continue to gather evidence and look into the case.
The RCMP said it would provide public updates as soon as new information becomes available.
