The iconic Canadian Forces Snowbirds aren’t making a return to Regina on Thursday after all.
In a surprise announcement, the famous aerial display team said its planes would fly over the Queen City on Thursday morning. But just hours before the scheduled flyover, the team reversed course.

“Because of unforeseen circumstances, the Snowbirds will not be flying over Regina today, Thursday, November 5,” the Snowbirds said in a social media post.
“We’re sorry to anyone who was planning to watch for us.”
While the team did not cite reasons for the cancellation, Environment Canada reported freezing fog in Regina on Thursday morning.
Many were hoping to see the team’s historic Tutor jets for the last time on Thursday.
Earlier this year, a five-year hiatus from performances was announced to give the military time to procure the team’s new CT-157 Siskin II aircraft, which will replace the aging fleet of CT-114 Tutors.
