Coaches with the Regina Speed Skating Club said the group sees a new crop of young speed skaters stepping onto the ice for the first time every year the Winter Olympics are on.

Fans always look forward to a Canada-U.S. showdown. A group of Regina hockey fans braved the cold on Thursday afternoon to watch the gold medal showdown in community.

Curling has received a lot of attention after Team Canada was accused of hog line violations. A pair of notable Saskatchewan curlers say they think the extra attention is good for the sport.

"The Grey Cup will be accompanied by members of the 2025 Championship Team and/or Gainer the Gopher," the team said in a statement. "Stay tuned - there are many more stops to come!"

Kelly Chase played nearly 200 games with the Saskatoon Blades in his junior hockey days. Now, he will be among the first inducted into the team's new hall of fame as the Blades honour some of the best to have donned the jersey.

The University of Regina curling teams will look to use home-ice to their advantage as the 2026 U Sports and Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships get underway at the Callie Curling Club.
