Halloween is just days away and most trick-or-treaters are curious about the weather.
Dayna Vettese, a meteorologist at the Weather Network, said Halloween night is going to be chillier than what we’ve been experiencing so far this fall.
“We’ve been a bit on the mild side throughout Saskatchewan for September and most of October, but we have seen that pattern shift and we are going to be a bit chilly heading into Halloween night,” Vettese said.
The daytime high for Halloween will reach about four or five degrees, with the temperature dropping close to the freezing mark in the evening.
“Unfortunately, you may have to put a coat or heavy sweater underneath that costume,” Vettese said. “A few snowsuit princesses I think are in the future for Saskatchewan’s Halloween.”
Halloween will be on the breezy side, with a few showers or snow flurries. Vettese said a low-pressure system moving into the province will bring those showers or flurries in the overnight hours of Halloween.
“The start of trick-or-treating should be alright, but if you’re heading out super late you might run into some showers or maybe a few flurries but it doesn’t look like anything heavy, that’s the good news,” she explained.
After Halloween, Vettese said the beginning of November will start off on the cool side and get chillier from there.
“It’s not unheard of to see snow in Saskatchewan in November, we’ve had some snow recently so we are headed down that cooler path. It looks like the first couple of weeks of November are going to be fairly chilly, unlike the above normal temperatures we’ve seen in September and October,” she said.
