Regina police handed out 138 tickets during their second round of Operation Bus Cop.
The police service ran the initiative throughout the month of October. The traffic safety unit also ran a few other projects that didn’t involve riding a bus but focused on looking for distracted drivers.
During 19 projects in October, there were 83 distracted driving tickets and 55 tickets for other infractions, such as seatbelts and unregistered/unlicensed drivers.
When they first ran the program back in March, police handed out 34 distracted driving tickets.
