A Saskatoon police constable was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after he was hurt during a Saturday morning arrest.
The 36-year-old officer was in the 100 block of Avenue I south just before noon trying to arrest a 48-year-old man for an outstanding warrant when a fight broke out.
The man resisted arrest but was eventually arrested.
The officer, a seven-year veteran of the force, was hurt during the fight and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The man is charged with assaulting a police officer, obstruction, and breaching an existing conditional sentence order. He will appear before a Justice of the Peace on Sunday.
