A Saskatoon family is safe after lightning struck their home early Sunday morning.
The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a house fire call at 515 Neusch Crescent in the Silverwood Heights neighbourhood around 3 a.m.
When they arrived the house wasn’t on fire but there was obvious damage to the outside around the power meter. The outside vinyl siding was also melted and charred.
The residents inside got out safe and a fire investigator determined the damage was caused by a lightning strike.
Damage is estimated at $25,000.
