A new era begins tonight on CBS as Stephen Colbert takes over “The Late Show.”
Colbert ended “The Colbert Report” in December.
“This is the longest I’ve gone since I was 24 not performing in front of a live audience,” Colbert told ABC.
He has promised to be the real Colbert and not the goofball he played on “The Colbert Report.” He said he will not be afraid to try anything on his show that will get a laugh.
Colbert will host five shows a week or 200 shows a year.
His first guest on Tuesday will be George Clooney because Colbert believes Clooney is a brilliant actor, a great director and someone who cares about the world.
