A Maple Creek man who was accused of fondling students likely won’t be able to teach anymore.
According to media reports, a former student came forward saying Todd Anaka had kissed her and fondled her several years ago. She also alleged Anaka had inappropriate conversations and contact with other students. Other students who were asked,however, said nothing inappropriate had happened.
Anaka denies the allegations, but agreed to leave his job at a school in Maple Creek.
In response to the allegations, the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation held a hearing. A decision was made at the end of August to have Anaka’s teacher’s certificate cancelled, effectively stopping him from teaching in Saskatchewan.
Anaka has 30 days from the date of the decision, Aug 21, to appeal it. The decision doesn’t become final until then.
