A northern airline is celebrating 15 years in Saskatchewan by giving back.
Transwest Air has committed to fly 53 post-secondary students and their families from Fond du Lac First Nation to Prince Albert for their education this year.
“One clear struggle that Northerners face, is that to attend post-secondary education they must leave their homes and community for significant periods of time. Understandably, this is very difficult emotionally and financially, and this is why so few in the North achieve this,” said Garrett Lawless, Executive Vice President of Transwest Air.
The airline said it will continue to support students on an annual basis.
