For the second time in one week, a pedestrian is dead after being hit by a car while crossing the road.
Saskatoon police responded to a call of a car-on-pedestrian collision at Diefenbaker Drive and Vanier Crescent around 7:45 p.m. Saturday.
The car was heading east when it hit a man. He was taken to Royal University Hospital with life-threatening injuries but died shortly after.
Police collision analysts were called to the scene and the incident is still under investigation.
Another man was hit by a half-ton truck and killed while he was walking on Wanuskewin Road north of 71st Street Tuesday.
