Saskatchewan’s Rate Review Panel has given its approval on a change to SaskEnergy rates which would see customers paying about $4 less a month.
SaskEnergy’s application to the panel proposed an overall rate adjustment that would decrease customers’ bills by an average of 6.7 per cent; the application included a 4.5 per cent increase to SaskEnergy’s delivery service rate and a 14 per cent decrease in the commodity rate.
A news release from the panel explains that SaskEnergy would face an overall shortfall of $10.1 million without the increase to the delivery service rate.
The proposal now needs final approval by Cabinet. If approved, the changes will take effect Nov. 1.
