Brian Solberg sentenced to 4 years for breach of recognizance

A Regina man who breached his recognizance has been sentenced to four years in jail.
 
Brian Solberg, 64, was arrested Sept. 17 and charged with four counts of breach of recognizance. Police said he left the city, took medication to enhance sexual performance, had a relationship without letting his supervisor know, and was in an area of the city in which sex workers are known to be — all things he wasn’t supposed to be doing.
 
Solberg was sentenced on each count, adding up to four years altogether.
 
Solberg seems to have made a habit of breaching his conditions. He’s been in and out of jail since 2005, when he moved to Regina after serving 10 years in B.C. for attacking a woman. The last time was in 2013, when he was sentenced to two years for breaching his conditions by being in an area of the city in which sex workers are known to be.
 
People in Regina have been warned about Solberg being a high-risk to reoffend several times in the past. The most recent was in March, when he moved to The Creeks neighbourhood.
