The extreme windchill warning wrapped up across both central and southern Saskatchewan Saturday morning.
“Finally, a lot of warm air from the southwest (is making) its way from B.C. and we’ll get this cold, arctic air out of our way,” said Environment Canada meteorologist Jason Knight.
He added by mid-week, both Regina and Saskatoon will see warm ups with highs around the freezing mark.
Temperatures hovering around -30 C with wind chill values of -40 C prompted Environment Canada to issue an extreme cold warning for most of the province on Friday.
The cold weather caused school and bus closures — in both cities and rural communities.
