The trial for Ronald Gasser, the man accused of gunning down former Roughrider Joe McKnight, will start on Tuesday.
Gasser is charged with second-degree murder. He’s pleading not guilty and is claiming self-defence.
According to local news outlets, Gasser was involved in a previous incident where he claimed self-defence for punching a motorist more than 10 years ago.
Police say McKnight was shot three times after an apparent road rage incident with Gasser.
McKnight died on Dec. 1, 2016 after being shot in an apparent road rage incident in New Orleans.
