Five people were taken to hospital — one of them with serious injuries — after a truck rear-ended a taxi at the intersection of Lewvan Drive and Dewdney Avenue early Sunday morning.
According to police, around 3 a.m., the taxi was stopped northbound at a red light on Lewvan when the truck rammed into it, then drove away.
Firefighters used the jaws of life to save two of the five people inside the cab. EMS then rushed all five occupants to hospital.
Meanwhile, police officers were able to track down the driver of the truck a distance away, with the help of a caller.
Still no word on whether any charges have been laid.
Regina police continue to investigate.
