Regina police have charged two teens after a woman’s purse was stolen after she and another man were sprayed with bear spray.
Police were called to the area of Lorne Street and 8th Avenue around 1:40 a.m. Saturday. That’s where the 29-year-old woman had been walking with a 33-year-old man. The two had been sprayed with bear spray before the woman’s purse was stolen.
Shortly afterwards, at 1:50 a.m., one of the suspects was spotted and arrested. The second suspect was found by canine.
Two 17-year-old men are charged with armed robbery, assault with intent to steal, and disguise with intent. One also faces a charge of breach of undertaking.
The young men can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Both made their first court appearance on Monday.
