It’ll be a Boston Bruin reunion when the Kinsmen Celebrity Sports Dinner comes to TCU Place Friday night.
The 58th annual charity dinner welcomes five of the bruisin’ Bruins from years past as hall of famers Cam Neely, Adam Oates and Gerry Cheevers are joined by Terry O’Reily and John Wensink.
Looking around the room, Cheevers had a tough time figuring out how he received an invite.
“Well, we got Terry O’Reilly, John Wensink and Cam (Neely), three really great big tough guys,” he said to media ahead of the dinner. “I don’t even know why I’m here, truthfully. I started a lot of (fights), but never finished them.”
Former Bruin P.J. Stock will host the dinner with Sportsnet’s Jamie Campbell for a fun-filled night dedicated to a good cause.
Just in case there wasn’t enough star power in one room, Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Joe Biagini is joining the action.

Biagini met with a group from Elmwood Residences, a home for adults with special needs, at Gordie Howe Kinsmen Arena to visit with supporters and sign autographs Friday morning.
Biagini said he was floored with the amount of support he received as the lone non-hockey athlete.
“I don’t know who’s having more fun, them or me,” Biagini said. “It’s hard to overstate the importance of this. It really just teaches you how to appreciate the opportunities you’ve been given.”
While Biagini was visiting with Blue Jays faithful, Oates and Stock played a pick-up game of hockey with members of the Kinsmen Inner City Hockey League.
Orchid Brown was in attendance to watch her 11-year-old son Nigel share the ice with hockey royalty.
“He had a bit of anxiety and had to make sure I was here, but other than that he’s done pretty good,” she said of her son’s nerves ahead of the skate. “It’s actually pretty exciting to see any of the smiles on many of the kids’ faces.”
Proceeds raised from the dinner go towards local charities and service organizations.
