An investigation has been launched at Mosaic’s K1 potash mine in Esterhazy after a mechanical issue temporarily stopped work on Monday morning.
The company says a skip – a machine that takes potash to the surface – had a mechanical failure and mining operations were stopped.
One worker was sent to hospital with minor injuries.
Everything was back up and running by Tuesday morning.
The provincial mines branch will be investigating what happened, as it does whenever an incident at a mine occurs.
