Snow on the way for southeast Saskatchewan

Break out the snow shovels – southeast Saskatchewan is likely going to be getting its first real taste of winter this week.
 
Environment Canada released a special weather statement on Sunday evening for a large portion of the province’s southeast corner, including the Assiniboia, Carlyle, Estevan, Regina, Fort Qu’Appelle, Humboldt, Kamsack, Moose Jaw, Moosomin, and Yorkton areas.
 
It’s calling for accumulating snow starting as rain Tuesday morning, but then progressing to snow and continuing into Wednesday.
 
The weather agency said things are still a bit uncertain in the system, so accumulations may vary. But as of Sunday evening, the prediction was five to 10 centimetres, or two to four inches, over the two days.
