One of the worst seasons in Saskatchewan Roughriders’ history is officially over with players emptying out their lockers Monday.
Speaking with some of the players, News Talk Radio heard that there is change in the air.
“Change is going to happen but the change is going to be for the better, that’s what I think,” said linebacker Weldon Brown. “I’m just hoping that I’m around for it.”
Defensive End John Chick had similar thoughts.
“There’s some clear and present things that need some attention to and that will be addressed from the top down,” explained Chick.
Changing player personnel is not the top priority for the team. President Craig Reynolds will first have to decide who will be the new general manager and head coach.
“Obviously I would let (Reynolds) know I would be definitely interested but there’s so many things that have to fall into place before that even gets to the next step,” said interim Head Coach Bob Dyce.
Dyce is quick to point out the future is bright in Saskatchewan with some of the young players like Nic Demski and Tyree Hollins.
“So there’s a number of situations across the board offensively, defensively, and special teams where there’s certainly a positive group going forward.”
Interim General Manager Jeremy O’Day will speak with the media Tuesday. President Craig Reynolds takes his turn Thursday.
