The Saskatchewan government will unveil its plans for liquor stores Wednesday.
It is being described as an expansion of privatized liquor retailing.
In consultations that began last year, the public was asked to consider a number of options, everything from maintaining the status quo to Alberta-style privatization.
Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Minister (SLGA) Don McMorris admits change “can be a little nerve-wracking”.
But he is confident with what will be announced.
“I feel comfortable with the direction because it is, I think, it meets a number of the markers the public has asked for.”
McMorris isn’t willing to reveal anything until Wednesday’s announcement.
“What I would say is it reflects what we heard in the consultations.”
Ultimately the decision rests with you. Any changes announced won’t be implemented until after next year’s provincial election.
