Victoria Avenue was closed for several hours between Park Street and Ring Road after a pedestrian was struck and killed there early Friday morning.
The Regina Police Service says a 39-year-old man was crossing Victoria Avenue when he was struck by a westbound vehicle. Police were called to the scene at 2:35 a.m. By the time paramedics arrived, the man was already dead.
The 19-year-old man driving the vehicle was taken to hospital for minor injuries. Police say he was the one who made the 911 call.
There is no decision on any possible charges, but police say alcohol was not a factor for the driver involved in the crash.
