Saskatchewan’s curling community is mourning the loss of a true icon.
Sam Richardson died Thursday morning at the age of 82.
Richardson was a part of the famous Richardson rink that won national and world titles in 1959, ’60, ’62 and ’63.
After his curling career, Richardson became one of the most-popular dinner speakers in the province and at curling events across Canada. He’s received Saskatchewan’s Order of Merit in 2005, the province’s highest honour.
