Saskatchewan families looking for something to do for the Family Day long weekend may want to grab some fishing gear.
The province is offering a free fishing weekend from Feb. 13 to 15. Everyone in Saskatchewan is allowed to fish without a licence on any public waters that have an open sport fishing season.
Possession limits and reduced limits on some waters still remain in place. See the Anglers’ Guide for the rules.
The province reminds people to be cautious of ice thickness. Ice should be at least 10 centimetres thick to safely walk on it.
Free fishing weekend does not apply to national parks.
