The owner of a Regina based company is facing fines of $23,800 for the workplace death of an employee two years ago.
A worker was electrocuted on Aug. 9, 2016, while installing an air conditioning unit.
Kyle Ringlein, owner of High 5 Mechanical, pleaded guilty in Provincial Court to one count of breaking workplace safety regulations around electrical equipment. Specifically, for failing to ensure that the electrical conductor or equipment was locked out or connected to the ground before and during work on that equipment.
The company was fined $17,000 with a $6,800 surcharge.
